The four types of braces Dr. Hoff offers to his patients are:

Traditional Silver Braces:

Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces seen today. The brackets are made with a high-grade stainless steel and have remarkably been reduced in size in recent years for more comfort. Thin, flexible archwires are engaged in the brackets with elastics. Elastics come in many colors and allow for customizing the look of your braces at each office visit.

Ceramic (Tooth-Colored/ Clear) Braces:

Ceramic braces are less visible than traditional braces. They offer more esthetic approach to orthodontic treatment. For that reason, ceramic braces are usually used on older teenagers and adults who have cosmetic concerns.

Self-Ligating Braces:

The self-ligating braces area relatively new appliance system for straightening teeth that has several benefits over traditional braces. Self-ligating brackets are uniquely designed to allow lighter forces on the teeth and periodontium, due to very little friction between the braes and wires. This lower friction results in a more ideal force for tooth movement, more comfort, faster treatment times, fewer office visits and has some oral hygiene benefits as well.

Invisalign:

Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable and comfortable aligners to straighten your teeth. No one can tell you are wearing Invisalign because they are virtually invisible! Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.
